Arcade have made a name for themselves around Sydney, teaching real skills to real people in the One Day Arcade Start-Up Class. This class has been the basis of many backyard and main street enterprises, and is now also the base class for further intensive extended specific skills Courses offered to a wider audience with wider skills base and need.
ARCADE START-UP CLASS
- 1 Day or 2 Weeknights
A PEFECT INTRO FOR COMPLETE NEWBIES AS WELL AS A REFRESHER FOR PRO’S

This is the pre-requisite for all core subjects but is still a stand alone class.
The Arcade Start-Up Class is taught in a relaxed environment, focusing on real world methods, equipment and outcomes. As the first class you encounter with us, it is designed as a stand alone class that gives you the skills and resources to ‘Start-Up’ your screen printing world. The class in based on sound design knowledge, working with real photographic emulsion stencils and waterbased inks, in extremely environmentally friendly methods. You will receive comprehensive notes delivered as part of a system that enables you to print at home with minimal impact, equipment and space. Making it real.

ILLUSTRATION FOR MULTI COLOUR SCREEN PRINTING

Learn the ins and outs of the illustration world with freelance professional Blair Sayer, all the way through to full production of the finished product with Steve Woods and Cameron Haughey.
Take your illustration to a whole new level, from concept to printing the physical multi-colour printed T-Shirts/Poster. Not to be missed if you want to go professional.
Course cost includes screens and squeegees that are yours to keep, as well as up to 4 films, 10 AS Colour t-shirts, and all consumables used in classes.

MULTI COLOUR DESIGN FOR SCREEN PRINTING
WITH PHOTOSHOP & IllUSTRATOR

– PHOTOGRAPHIC, CMYK & ALTERNATE COMBINATION DESIGN

Learn the role and methods of handling these two key programs using your skills as a designer, pushing through new barriers for use in the Screen Printing arena. With Nic Bailey on software instruction, through to production with Steve Woods and Cameron Haughey.
This is a straight forward approach to making these two programs accessible, unlocking simple usable systems to deliver your art regardless of style. This is a ground breaking step up for anyone wanting to consolidate the use of these programs, from professional output through lectures and practical instruction on your own brief, ultimately to the physical output of your finished physical product.

REPEAT PATTERN TEXTILE YARDAGE
- 4 WEEK INTENSIVE (Core subject)
- MULTICOLOUR HALF YARDAGE OR ONE COLOUR FULL WIDTH YARDAGE

Taught by Steve Woods, along with guest lectures in fashion and furnishings. You will walk in with concepts and work through the entire process to finished yardage fabric in your design.
Designed to be the only entire process intensive class available where you work your designs through the knowledge and theory of established repeat pattern ideas through outcome planning and inks and colour theory and practice to finished print. A student will leave this class with 10m of their own yardage, and the prowess to replicate the process during studio time.

A true design brief working from concept to production. Graphic Design with Lachlan Bruce; Production with Steve Woods and Cameron Haughey
Learn, follow and execute a true graphic design brief with real world limitations, through to finished product. Our ethos at Arcade and Print Edition is bring people to the world of finished art as opposed to the concept/print on demand mentality. In this course we set out with the end production methods in mind with a view to filling a client brief within the capacities of reality. Lachlan has years of experience in event design revolving around film, music and art working creatively from concepts and creative through to finished artwork and colateral.

STUDIO PASSPORT
THE STUDIO PASSPORT IS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE SYSTEMS OPERATION PROCEDURES UNIT IN CORE SUBJECT COURSES, OR THE SYSTEMS OPERATION BRIDGE (BELOW)

SYSTEMS OPERATIONS BRIDGE CLASS (Transit Visa)
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE START-UP COURSE AND WISH TO GAIN STUDIO PASSPORT TIME
You must have completed the Start-Up Class to do this class. The Systems Operations Bridge Class is for people with prior print experience that wish to use the facilities available during studio time by getting a Studio Passport. This is an accredited (by us) system where you learn procedures about the use of our equipment and systems to provide autonomous use and safety and continuous use by everyone of equipment.
Details – Learn the correct procedures and use of all wet chemicals and machinery in the studio in order to establish operational knowledge—working to full SOP (Systems Operation Procedures) knowledge and trust levels.

All classes take place in the Arcade Print Factory although can be arranged for other locations if you have some crazy idea that you think we could help you with.
FIND US
Walking & Public Transport -
2 Minutes from the end of King St. Newtown / Princes Highway Railway Bridge (close to St.Peters Railway Station). Walk through Mays Lane (Mega Sydney Graffitti spot), across May St. straight into Appleby St. and then left into Hutchinson St. We are the bright yellow building 3 doors down.
Driving & Parking -
The closest landmark is the start of the Princes Highway, where King St. Newtown ends at the intersection of Sydney Park Rd (where there are 2 massive brick stacks).
Heading South – West away from Sydney and Newtown, turn right onto May St, left at Campbell St and left into Hutchinson St.
We are nearer the top of the street – the bright yellow building. Hutchinson St is one way.
Parking is a loading zone most of the time but clear after 12.30pm on Saturdays and 5pm at nights – all other parking around nearby streets is all day.
SCHOOLS & UNIVERSITIES
Classes can be conducted on your premises. Our systems are designed so they are perfectly safe in any art room environment.
Classes can also be for motivational purposes and education for a wider audience.
